St. Mary Catholic School is leading students to…

Know. Love. Serve. Our school was founded with the mission to instill the Catholic faith in the youth while providing them with a substantial education. At St. Mary Catholic School, students are provided with a multitude of opportunities to grow including robotics, Spanish, music, art, and athletics.

We are passionate in working with students as they grow in their education, faith, and who they are as individuals. By properly educating our students in a Christian atmosphere, our mission is to put forth saints and evangelists into the world.

…spiritual development…

Catholic school is more than a place where doctrine is learned, it is a community that prioritizes a Christian atmosphere. In order to accomplish this, we must foster our own spiritual lives through attending Mass, receiving the sacraments, and spending time to foster intimate relationships with our Lord.

We work together with the parish community in leading students through academic and spiritual success. By fully integrating education and a Christian atmosphere, we assist the students in building relationships with Christ and positive images of themselves.

Students are not required to be Catholic, we welcome students of all faith!

…academic excellence…

We believe that smaller class sizes are the key to academic success. This benefits students greatly as there is more time for teachers to personally assist students with any of their needs. By integrating useful technology such as smart-boards and Chromebooks, students have access to many resources that assist them in their education.

Our classrooms are extensions of the home; we recognize that parents bear the primary responsibility in the education of their children. As educators, we join the parents within the community consisting of a pastor, parents, students, faculty, and volunteers.

…and community service.

St. Mary Catholic School was founded in 1883 and has been a part of the Big Rapids community ever since. We encourage our students to participate in organizations outside of the St. Mary-St. Paul Parish, whether it is through volunteering at the local food pantry or Saint Vincent de Paul Society.

“A community needs a soul if it is to become a true home for human beings.”
