Mrs. Willison joined St. Mary’s as Principal in June of 2024. Prior to her coming to Big Rapids, she was a Middle School teacher in Lakeview for 27 years. She has taught 8th grade Math and Science, 5th grade, and completed her career as a reading and math interventionist. Her favorite subject to teach is reading.
Mrs. Willison has also coached several sports including volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and cheerleading. Ski Club was her favorite activity to organize/supervise. She can even be found on a golf course a few times each summer but more regularly enjoys a day on The Tri-Lakes of Mecosta County or Black Lake in Northern Michigan.
After graduating high school in Onaway, MI, Mrs. Willison attended Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw and there received a bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate in elementary education.
The Catholic faith has always been a prominent part of her life. She attended St. Paul’s in Onaway and has been a member at Christ The King-St. Francis De Sales for the last 27 years and serves as a Eucharistic Minister, has taught Sunday School, and assisted with many other initiatives that help serve the wider community.
Mrs. Willison is married to Dan Willison and they have two daughters, two dogs and two cats. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dogs, gardening, cooking, paddleboarding, boating, traveling and downhill skiing.
